Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at CCAC

The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) is the central overseeing body of all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion, including Title IX and Civil Rights compliance, for the Community College of Allegheny County. In addition, ODEI is a resource and an advisement and consulting office that provides opportunity for dialogue, education and support on topics of diversity, equity and inclusion. The office works toward increasing the capacity of the institution as a culturally relevant and inclusive college for all while holding the college accountable for upholding the Five Commitments and creating a more socially just and inclusive campus for students, faculty, staff and employees.

Mission

The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion provides intentional support through education, knowledge building, professional development, fair and impartial civil rights complaint resolutions, and community engagement. Through a lens of social justice, ODEI upholds the Five Commitments of CCAC to create a more inclusive and socially just college providing access for all while preparing individuals to succeed in a complex global society.

Vision

The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion leads the Community College of Allegheny County as an exemplary model of integrated diversity, equity and inclusion work for community colleges across the nation. Through cross-divisional collaborative work, ODEI helps build institutional capacity for a more inclusive college for all with a focus on social justice and access. ODEI champions the work of diversity, equity and inclusion, recognizing that in order to achieve institutional success for students, the college must become a more inclusive community that values the educational process, educates, and prepares students to navigate life after college.
