Dietetic Programs
The Dietetic programs at CCAC are looking for students excited about careers in food and nutrition who want to be an integral part of a health management team or involved in community or public health, or who might be seeking a career change to food management. You'll find the answer exploring our career options: Dietetic Technician, Registered and Dietary Manager. Classroom and online programs are available.
The Dietary Manager program has a history dating to 1966. Initially, a Dietetic Assistant certificate program was developed in accordance with the recommendations of the American Dietetic Association (ADA, now AND, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) to meet the federal regulations for nursing homes.
The initial approval in 1970 included options to complete the requirements for Dietetic Assistant or to obtain an Associate of Science degree as a Dietetic Technician. Consistent with national organizational changes, CCAC changed the name of the program from Dietetic Assistant to Dietary Manager, effective January 1985. Today, students have the option of a certificate program that meets the requirements of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) or an associate degree program that meets the requirements of both the ANFP and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Dietetic Technician, A.S. (590.3)
The Dietetic Technician program provides education in the field of dietetics, nutrition and management. The program prepares students for management positions in foodservice establishments, nursing homes and hospitals. In addition, students are prepared to work as Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) in hospitals and nursing homes or provide nutrition education in community settings and in home health agencies.
Dietary Manager Certificate (591.3)
This two-semester and one-summer session program prepares individuals for employment in health care, institutional foodservice and long-term care facilities.
Students are eligible for Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) Pre-Professional membership; graduates are eligible for the CDM credentialing exam and ANFP professional membership.

Admission to Dietetics
The college has an open admissions process, supported by an online system. College Board scores and other entrance examinations are not required. You may, however, be required to take placement tests so that your academic advisor can help you select courses appropriate to your educational goals and background.
