CCAC Vocational Training Students Honor a Graduating Cadet
Pittsburgh Police and Fire Academy graduating cadet Dominic A. Palombo received a surprise honor during his June 16 graduation. CCAC Food Services student Paul Krepps Jr. and CCAC Food Service program instructor Randy Herbe presented him with an award recognizing how he made a difference to CCAC Vocational Education students during the spring semester. CCAC, through the college's Vocational Training program, offers food service training for students who need special educational support. As part of the program, students prepare meals (breakfast and/or lunch) for the Allegheny County Police and Fire Academy cadets for fifteen weeks each semester. Since January, the CCAC students cooked and served meals to 30 police and firefighter cadets. At the end of their training, the class voted to honor the one cadet who "made a difference" to them during their internship.
