Why Anesthesia Technology?
Anesthesia technicians are vital members of the anesthesia care team. They assist with the preparation of equipment and medication required for the delivery of anesthesia care to patients who are in chronic pain or undergoing surgery.
Students enrolled in this associate degree program are prepared for entry-level work under the supervision of an anesthesia provider in a variety of clinical settings that include hospital operating rooms; interventional and diagnostic radiology, labor and delivery units; intensive care units; emergency rooms; outpatient procedure suites; and ambulatory surgery centers.
Accreditation
The Anesthesia Technologist program is an American Society of Anesthesia Technologist and Technicians (ASATT) approved program and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Middle States Accreditation
In addition to the accreditation by ACEN, CCAC's Anesthesia Technologist program is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Anesthesia Technologist, A.S. (462.2)
This program prepares graduates to work under the supervision of an anesthesia provider and as a vital member of the anesthesia care team. The anesthesia technologist assists with the preparation of various types of equipment and pharmacology required for the delivery of anesthesia care.

Admission To Anesthesia Technology
Each Allied Health program at CCAC has specific admissions requirements and career accreditation.
For Anesthesia Technology, there are specific course requirements and academic thresholds that must be met before a potential applicant can be considered for the program.
Enrollment in this program is limited by availability of clinical sites and other factors. Students must make a separate application to this program. Admission to the college and completion of any developmental level courses are required.
The program begins during the spring term each academic year, and applications are due on a rolling basis until full.
