About The Nurse Aide Training Program
Nurse aides, also known as nursing assistants, provide direct care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses. They may feed and bathe patients, help rotate them in bed, assist with exercise, and administer medications. They also help prepare medical equipment for tests.
CCAC's Nurse Aide Training program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience and prepare them to pass the certification exam administered by Credentia. The program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Program Outcomes
Certified, registered nurse aides are in high demand to support patients in a variety of health care facilities.
Roughly 37% of nurse aides worked in nursing care facilities as of 2020, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, while 30% worked in hospitals, and 11% worked in retirement communities.
